Frequently Asked Questions

  • Item descriptionOur small group sessions are designed to feel like personal training in a group setting. With a low coach-to-client ratio, your coach is able to modify every movement to suit your individual goals, injuries, or fitness level. You won’t be lost in the crowd—we coach you through each session so you get the most out of your time in the gym.

  • All of our programming is built by kinesiologists—movement professionals with 4+ years of university education and ongoing training in human biomechanics, strength progression, rehabilitation, and coaching. These workouts are not auto-generated or pieced together from trends. They are thoughtfully crafted by people who understand the science of training and care deeply about helping you progress safely.

  • Yes! While our Lifting Club sessions are small group-based, your experience is highly individualized. Whether you’re managing an injury, coming back after a long break, or chasing performance goals, your coach will provide modifications and progressions tailored to you. It’s the accountability of a group, with the attention of 1:1 coaching.

  • All of our classes are led by certified kinesiologists or personal trainers with extensive education and practical experience. This means you're learning from professionals with more than just a weekend course under their belts. We understand how to help you move well, avoid injury, and build lasting strength.

  • You are not required to do a consultation before registering for Learn to Lift or Lifting Club. However, if you are unsure if this is the right class for you then we encourage you to book a consultation to learn more! You DO have to book a consultation before booking any personal training or exercise programming services.

  • Lifting Club and Small Group Personal Training classes are for self-identifying women, trans and gender non-binary folks. Before jumping into a group class, you need to have a consultation, have participated in Learn to Lift, or have had some strength training experience using barbells.
