Alyssa Thornborrow

Kinesiologist & Exercise Programming Specialist

Alyssa is a kinesiologist specializing in personalized exercise programming for clients with diverse goals, experience levels, and movement needs. Her background in strength and conditioning, athletic performance, and rehabilitation-informed exercise allows her to create adaptable programs that help clients build strength, improve mobility, and train with confidence.

My Story

My passion for exercise programming grew from seeing how the right training plan can support completely different people and goals—from athletes working toward performance to individuals simply wanting to feel stronger and more confident in everyday life.

I graduated from Western University in 2023 with an Honours BA in Kinesiology, where I developed a strong foundation in exercise prescription, strength and conditioning, exercise psychology, athletic injuries, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

During my time at Western, I worked with the Women’s Varsity Rugby team, helping develop and facilitate strength and conditioning and rehabilitation-focused programming. This experience gave me the opportunity to work with athletes through different stages of training and support their progression toward returning to sport.

I've also worked as a physiotherapy assistant, where I gained hands-on experience supporting people working to improve their mobility, strength, and overall movement. Together, these experiences have shaped the way I approach exercise programming today: every person starts somewhere different, and their program should reflect that.

I specialize in creating personalized and online exercise programs that consider your goals, experience, lifestyle, and individual needs. Whether you're new to strength training, looking to improve athletic performance, returning to activity, or simply need a structured plan to follow independently, my goal is to make your training purposeful, adaptable, and realistic.

I'm continuing to expand my education and will be pursuing my MSc in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University, building on my background in kinesiology and exercise prescription.

Ultimately, I want to give you more than a list of exercises—I want you to have a program you understand, feel confident following, and can use to make meaningful progress.
