Kristina Toporkova

Vancouver Kinesiologist & Small Group Strength Coach

Kristina is a kinesiologist and movement specialist who helps clients build strength, confidence, and long-term resilience through science-backed coaching. With a background in kinesiology, yoga, and outdoor athletics, she blends progressive strength training, prehab, and active rehab to help clients feel capable and confident both in and out of the gym.

My Story

Movement has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve explored everything from hiking, Muay Thai, yoga, and running to climbing and swimming—but it wasn’t until I discovered strength training that I truly began to recognize my own power and what my body was capable of.

That experience shaped the way I coach today. I’m passionate about helping people build strength, reconnect with their bodies, and develop the confidence to enjoy movement without feeling intimidated by the gym.

I moved to British Columbia in 2019 to pursue a degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology from UBC, and stayed for the ocean, mountains, and active lifestyle. I also completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in Costa Rica, which continues to influence my approach to mobility, body awareness, and movement.

My coaching blends prehab, active rehabilitation, movement mechanics, and progressive strength training to create an individualized approach for each client. Whether you're learning to strength train, returning to movement after an injury, or working toward an outdoor goal, I want training to help you feel stronger and more capable in everyday life.

I'm especially passionate about hiking and outdoor performance training. I love helping people develop the strength, endurance, and confidence they need to explore Vancouver and BC's trails—whether you're preparing for your first big hike or looking to feel stronger on the adventures you already love.

I'm also continuing my education toward becoming a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, further developing my understanding of how exercise can be adapted for different health needs and clinical conditions. Ultimately, my goal is to provide supportive, empowering coaching that meets you where you're at and helps you build a positive, sustainable relationship with movement.
