Tat Pirogovskaia

Vancouver Personal Trainer & Small Group Coach

Tat is a Vancouver personal trainer and strength coach who helps clients build confidence, improve movement quality, and develop sustainable strength. Her curiosity-driven approach combines personalized coaching with a scientific mindset to support everyone from new lifters to clients preparing for hiking, sports, and everyday adventures.

My Story

My strength training journey started in 2016 at Enhanced Performance, first as a trainee, then as a mentee, and eventually as a coach. It was a pivotal experience for me because I discovered something I hadn't expected: strength training could actually be fun.

That realization changed my relationship with movement and eventually inspired me to help others discover the benefits of consistent strength training for themselves.

My approach to personal training always starts with a conversation and an assessment. I want to understand where you're starting, what you'd like to accomplish, and what movement looks like in your everyday life. From there, we'll build a training approach that supports your goals rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all program.

Over the years, I've helped clients prepare for multi-day hikes, build strength for hobbies like golf and pickleball, transition confidently from private to small-group training, and explore movement when mobility feels limited. I approach these challenges with curiosity, finding movements that feel accessible while gradually building strength and confidence.

My path to coaching wasn't traditional. I moved to Vancouver as a teenager from Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, and later earned a degree in Cell Biology and Genetics with a minor in German Studies. I went on to work in academia researching food science and as a chemist analyzing food and drugs.

That scientific background continues to influence the way I think about training today: stay curious, pay attention to what the body is telling us, and find an approach that works for the individual.

Ultimately, I want to help people discover what I did—that consistent strength training can be enjoyable, empowering, and something that supports the things you want to do outside the gym.
